Fluffy Dog Breeds with Cloud-Like Coats

Everett recommends long layered cuts as "they make the curls fall more beautifully while keeping body in the hair," as well as bob cuts. "A bob creates weight where it’s needed and gives curly hair a shape," she says. The bending creates continuous lift and volume by leveraging the physics of shaping, heat, and tension to bend the hair into expansive hairstyles.

Flicked and voluminous

"A great tip is to lean your head to either side when brushing and also toss your head backwards and forwards to really get some volume and to shake all the curl pattern out," he says. “Once blowdried, using dry shampoo pre-emptively will give an airy, fluffy finish to your fresh blowdry,” says Tom. "Finish up with a sheen spray, and there you have it. Big and flowy '70s inspired hair,” Dionne concludes. The volume in fluffy hair is an intentional styling choice, while frizz results from damage, humidity, or lack of proper conditioning. Fluffy hair has a purposeful shape and flattering lift; frizzy hair is shapeless and unmanageable.

Copper Curls with Long Blunt Bangs

Thanks to the naturally wild curls, the style looks different from day to day as each curl does its own thing, which is a fact of life when you have naturally curly hair. The messiness of this hairstyle also means that curly-haired women don’t need to worry about making sure every curl is perfectly defined for day-to-day styling. This tapered cut on black shiny curls is definitely a statement. We love the way the curls fall on to the forehead creating curly bangs.

Take small curls and separate them into even smaller ones using your fingers. Not only does this give you more of those gorgeous curls, but it also adds to the volume of your hair for an even fluffier look. If you notice any flat areas as your hair is drying, scrunch it with your hands to encourage those curls to come back. You can also twist tiny sections around your fingers to create a curl. Stick to the lowest heat setting to remove the excess moisture from your hair without ruining those gorgeous curls.

A giant among dog breeds, Tibetan mastiffs can tip the scales at 150 pounds—only some of which is made up of copious amounts of fur! It gets pretty cold in mountainous Tibet, and this ancient breed still has the dense coat to show for it.

The hairspray doesn’t harden the hair or make it appear overly styled. Instead, it retains the hair’s natural movement and bounce without appearing stiff, which is essential to the fluffy aesthetic. Fluffing the hair gently separates and lifts the strands, allowing air to circulate and give that light, airy feel of fluffy hair.

Can You Use a Flat Iron Without Heat Protectant? Substitutes?

Heavy products will weigh them down, so don’t use anything too thick. Follow those up with light leave-in conditioners, hair oils, or hair masks to give your hair the moisture and nutrients it needs to stay smooth and strong. The difference between fluffy hair and poofy hair is the level of frizziness involved, and the main culprit that causes excessive frizz is dryness.

Fluffy beach waves

It’s essentially the same thing as shampooing, but with a gentle, hydrating conditioner instead. By replacing shampoo with a clarifying conditioner, you can keep hair follicles healthy and happy while still cleaning your scalp. Round layers that fall around the face are a flattering short cut to consider for your short natural curls. This type of cut is great regardless of your face shape or your curl type. Just remember to keep your curls hydrated and shiny and you’ll be looking pretty morning, noon and night. These black and red curls are a perfect example of how color can take a hairstyle from good to great.

Celebrity trends often serve as the gold standard in fashion and beauty, influencing many choices regarding hairstyles. Seeking celebrity inspiration, especially for the fluffy hairstyle, has unique benefits and appeal. With their access to top hairstylists and the latest beauty innovations, celebrities often showcase hairstyles that are not only trendy but also meticulously crafted to flatter and captivate. After teasing and backcombing, you can add more depth and texture to the hairstyle with a texturizing spray. Once the rollers are removed, gently break up the curls with your fingers or a wide-toothed comb to tease certain areas of your hair. For those with frizz-prone hair, a diffuser can prevent frizz and flyaways from harsh direct airflow of heat.

It’s cool color gradient is so eye-catching and mesmerizing, we just can’t get enough of this eye candy style. Loose, romantic waves can be held off the face with artfully placed bobby pins, as Blake Lively demonstrates here. Using the same steps from #15, change up the placement of the barrettes to alter the look. This effortless style perfectly suits a summer party or festival. (Plus, your bone structure will really shine.) To make it even funkier, secure with a chic, elevated scrunchie like Lupita Nyong'o did on the red carpet. Larger sections can be coiled into small buns and held in place using bobby pins.

“This conditioner is my favorite hair product and I could never live without it,” Emilio says. If you find yourself skipping traditional shampoos because they leave your curls feeling like a bale of hay, you're not alone. But there’s hope, because this defrizzing shampoo feels heavenly when you lather it up. It’s creamy and just suds-y enough to make you feel like your hair is clean without leaving it stripped dry. Plus, the Anti-Frizz Nano Technology helps seal the hair cuticle and form a barrier on strands so you don’t get those pesky frizzes an hour after you shampoo.

I’ve been so pleased to learn that I can utilize different methods and techniques and have different curls because of it. Rake & shake, rake & scrunch, and the plump method all give significantly different results. Personally, I liked my curls on each of these wash days, but this is also proof to not give up on your curls if you aren’t happy with how they look. It may just be you haven’t stumbled upon the right hair technique for your curls.

Use a Volume-Building Shampoo

Hair rollers are cylindrical and often come with extra pins and clips to hold them in place. A diffuser attachment gently lifts hair up and away from the scalp, supporting its volume, lift, bounciness, and weightlessness as it dries. The “cup” shape of the diffuser attachment helps prop up the hair strands to dry with extra volume and body, adding depth and dimension that create fluffiness. Fluffy hair is considered to be a style that is the happy medium between a messy texture and a voluminous blowout.

Find Your Perfect Hairstyle with Just a Selfie

Fluffy hair has a touchably soft feel and an undeniable appeal that demands stares. Yet, the look can be notoriously difficult to achieve if you don’t know where to start. You can comb or brush the product through, or massage it into the hair with your fingers by applying a finger-comb method. Make the roots of your hair’s underlayers stand out from your scalp by crimping them.

Crimp the Roots of Your Hair

Adding the right products to these styles will result in full, fluffy hair,” adds Stephanie Angelone, master stylist at RPZL Hair Extension & Blowout Bar in New York City. Most flexi-rod sets are done painstakingly to get the smoothest results, but the extra texture at the roots adds some really nice body to this style. To see the step-by-step process behind these soft waves, follow Jaleesa’s super simple tutorial. So once you've mastered what works for your curls, it can be tempting to stick to one or two basic styles—but you certainly don't have to.

It frames the face nicely, allowing for you longer layers around the face and the option to part the hair in the center or on whichever side you choose. A classic shoulder length curly bob allows you to hold on to some length but will definitely save you plenty of time, product and money when it comes to styling and maintenance. In one Beauty Lab test, 90% of consumer testers agreed that it left hair feeling soft and hydrated without weighing it down. It's backed by the Good Housekeeping Seal, so if it doesn't live up to its claims, we will refund you in full.

Note that the lower temperature settings go down to 260 degrees, so this is perfect for fine hair as well. For daily conditioning, I don’t want to feel overly precious about my product, so I turn to Pantene Pro-V Curl Perfection Conditioner. The family size bottle lasts weeks and the formula is so nourishing that it eliminates the need for detangler. The best part is the frizz-calming complex, which seals the cuticle and ensures lasting hydration to maintain your moisture balance. If you tend to air dry your curls, this is key to bouncy, frizz-free perfection. The options for cute short hairstyles for curly hair are literally endless and no matter which you choose, your unique curls, personality and vibe are sure to make that style your own.

Bernese mountain dog

This is perfect for adding fluffy texture, especially if you have straight hair as you need to encourage as much volume as possible,” he says. The truth is curly hair is really unique and has a mind of its own, most of the time. Whether you’re just starting your curly hair journey or you’re a seasoned pro looking for a new holy grail, we rounded up the best curly hair products on the market to date. We’re talking hydrating cleansers, crunch-free gels, and even a miracle-working leave-in treatment (more on that below). Keep scrolling for the best curly hair products you’ll want to add to cart now.

Tips to Get Poof-Free Fluffy Hair

Decorating fluffy textured hair has to be one of the most fun aspects of styling. Beads, cuffs, pearls, clips, there are so many ways to add a creative touch to the style. More volume and frizz makes it easier to place and secure the wire–and it adds to the artistic vibe. "A good stylist that knows your hair type will know what your hair needs and can do, and it is important to know and understand that with curly hair, there is no one-size-fits-all haircut," says Ferrara. Once your hair is dry, it should have the volume you’re looking for. Of course, there may be some curls that need a bit of extra help.

With an expression and demeanor similar to its fellow Swiss breed the Saint Bernard, Bernese mountain dogs were bred for herding, not for rescuing snowbound travelers. Today, they make great family pets and do especially well with children. Their double fur coat will blow twice a year, so expect some major shedding. Immortalized in history for rescuing stranded travelers in the Swiss and Italian Alps, giant Saint Bernards are loyal, playful dogs and can be big goofballs. Both long- and short-haired varieties do some major shedding, so you’ll need to brush them frequently.

On particularly humid days, consider using products that specifically protect against humidity. Layer an anti-humidity spray on top of your fluffy hair-finishing spray to add extra protection from the humid air. So start with a moisturizing shampoo and ensure all products you use to add volume and texture have humectants and rich fatty acids to hydrate and soften the hair. A light hold spray ensures your fluffy hair remains undisturbed throughout the day.

A great option for women who prefer wavy hairstyles that are shoulder length. Finding your perfect curly bangs can be a hair altering experience. Short hair cuts immediately increase fullness and volume, creating bouncy curls, shape and movement. You can customize your bangs to flatter your face shape and brows, making the cut perfect for you.

Where to Find the Tastiest Damn Dumplings in LA Eater LA

pan dumpling house

The contrarian's xiao long bao hideout in Monterey Park serves as solid a rendition as you'll find of the soup dumpling, but the spicy wonton proved even more remarkable on a recent visit. Red pepper and coriander deliver a show-stopping punch before the juicy pork filling rounds out the experience with a satisfying, savory finish. The hui tou potsticker is unlike any other potsticker I've ever tasted, owing to a strong taste of white onion that sticks around throughout.

Pan Dumpling House

Sure, the cheese-pork-bun sounds a little stunt-dumpling, but the original gyoza is gingery, juicy goodness that's just seared on the bottom and warrants a taste if you're in the area. Georgian dumpling king TKF gives khinkali the white-tablecloth-and-full-bar experience it so thoroughly deserves. In the case of the khinkali, however, you're not supposed to eat the area where the pleats meet (called the "kudi" in Georgian), just the dumpling underneath. Also, feel free to ditch the fork and use your hands, as is the custom. Possibly the worst English translated name dish on this list, the Juicy Pork and Crab Bun at Long Xing Ji is actually a tangbao, the xiao long bao's basketball-playing cousin.

With a thicker, almost leathery wrapper, you're supposed to sip the soup with a straw and dismantle the rest of the dumpling as you eat it. Area, owing in large part to its perfectly hand-pleated xiao long bao. The soup is visible through the impossibly thin wrappers and each little delicate bite is famously consistent, whether you've had two pieces or 2,000 in your lifetime across multiple international locations.

Where to Find the Tastiest Damn Dumplings in LA

Well, if you're the type of person who's into that type of thing (and don't worry, there's a ton of us), Los Angeles is your dumpling mecca. From Chinese guo tie, to Japanese gyoza, to Korean mandu, to Georgian khinkali, to Himalayan momo, to Russian pelmeni, to whoever's going to take credit for manti, seriously. Mante House treats its thin-skinned miniature mante like pizzas, and the analogy isn't that far off, to be honest. Both are considered primetime party food (I've never been invited to one of these mante-having parties, but I imagine they're rather lit). At Mante House, they come in pizza boxes of pizza-sized diameters (14" for $14.99 aka shut up and take my money) and can have toppings like Hot Cheetos and nacho cheese. A little bigger with a more substantive wrapper than the ones you'll find at Mante House, the Monta at Su Be'oreg can be ordered by the oven-ready tray, so you can get the party started when you're ready...

The pan fried guo tie have a bronzed, crunchy bottom that's unlike any other you'll run into, with regions of Maillard-ized goodness running along the edges like glorious borders to flavor country. Old Village is famous for their khinkali (pictured), but it's also one of the only places you can get pelmeni in Los Angeles. The boiled Russian dumpling resembles tortellini in size, and it's topped with sour cream, mustard or vinegar and it's traditionally eaten with vodka (I'm not taking the bait on that punchline).

And not almost burning them and ending the party prematurely. Though I never really understood kimchi dumplings, they have an ardent following. One of the standout qualities of Dumpling House's steamed kimchi dumplings is their beautiful circular construction that evenly distributes that extra al dente bite of the steamed wrapper. SGV OG Clarissa Wei described Luscious Dumplings' rapid hand-made dumpling process in a feature on Eater, but don't mistake the speed with which they're made as impugning on their quality.

pan dumpling house

It matches Myung In's optimal wrapper-to-filling ratio and ups it with a savory filling that's neatly balanced flavor-wise. Anthony Bourdain picked himself a true OG in the Korean Dumpling game when he visited this hole-in-the-wall. Myung In dumplings are the standard by which dumplings are judged in the L.A. Their famous pleated dumplings are crafted with exceptional care and where other dumpling houses might go a little too bready on their wang mandu, Myung In strikes a nice balance by having a thinner skin. I also tried the beef roll pancake and the handmade wide noodle dish.

This small corner mandu shop inside the Zion Market appears to be a one-lady-operation. It currently features possibly L.A.'s first stunt-dumpling (corn cheese dumplings, anyone?), but don't be fooled. Traditionalists rave about the standard entries including the kimchi wang mandu and what some call the best gogi wang mandu (meat bread dumpling) in Koreatown.

It's a welcome taste that plays nice with the juicy pork filling. The tightly folded, flattened box shape gives it optimal surface area for pan frying, which lends it a slightly crunchy exterior. What started out as a weekend-only stand is now a 7-day-a-week operation (still cash only, amazingly), and for good reason. Nikuman-Ya is running the gyoza racket in Gardena, and that should really say enough.

The idea of local artists bound by talent and perspective is the foundation that this community was built on. Carmel was once, and for many still is, a bohemian enclave--a haven for artists and a refuge for writers and intellectuals. While the artists and writers brought creative energy to town, the establishment of the Carmel Art Association gave it structure, stature, and sustenance. The second-oldest art cooperative in the country, it has defined the art community for 80 years. Throughout the redevelopment of this area, the City has used public private partnerships to encourage investment by the private sector in the area. The City identified the best areas for redevelopment, purchased and combined small lots and made them ready for development, and created a plan for the area so that the private sector could come in and begin work more easily.

It is the mission of the Carmel Arts Council to encourage and promote the arts for all ages through leadership, financial, and volunteer support in order to nourish a vibrant culture in the Carmel Community. The Children’s Art Gallery features artwork by kindergarten through 5th grade students, along with middle and high school art. The Carmel Public Art Collection exists to make art accessible to all residents and visitors. Public art enhances the City’s outdoor spaces and experiences while bringing people together. From road crews to restaurants, banks to breweries, Carmel local entertainment and tourism impacts nearly every local business each year. That ripple effect lasts longer than the average family visit to Carmel.

Even if your buyer has other plans for the room, what’s important is you gave them a pleasant impression. A living room sometimes transforms into an extended sleeping area. But when you’re staging your home, be sure to define its purpose. Even without redecorating or remodeling, homes look a lot better just by cleaning and making rooms look spotless. Cleaning gets rid of unpleasant odors and makes surfaces look pristine. It’s also one of the most cost-effective ways to stage your home without spending a lot.

When Does the Seller Receive Payment from a Home Sale?

The real estate agents’ commissions usually add up to the biggest fee a seller pays — historically somewhere between 5 and 6 percent of the home’s sale price. So, if you sell your house for $450,000, say, you could end up paying $27,000 in commissions. In most cases, you as the seller bear the cost for both your own agent and your buyer’s. However, you may be able to negotiate a lower commission, especially if the sale price is relatively high. In a real estate transaction, many closing costs are the buyer’s responsibility. Some of the most common include title insurance, recording and settlement fees, and prorated property taxes and HOA fees up until closing day.

Apart from helping people visualize a new home, 38 percent of buyers are more willing to check a staged house they saw online. Meanwhile, 37 percent find staged homes more appealing when it’s decorated to their taste. The longer you’ve lived in a house, the more equity you gain. Majority of homeowners build enough equity after they’ve paid their mortgage for 5 years. This is usually enough to offset the cost of buying, closing, and moving into a new home. In this scenario, your total costs might range from around $326,776 to $345,221.

Estimated Home Sale Proceeds

Your estimated annual property tax is based on the home purchase price. The total is divided by 12 months and applied to each monthly mortgage payment. If you know the specific amount of taxes, add as an annual total. Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) is calculated based on your credit score and amount of down payment.

Transfer taxes

If you don’t have enough home equity, you’ll have to pay these added expenses from your own savings. Before you sell, you might be tempted to undertake a project that seems likely to increase the value in a buyer’s eyes. While some repairs might be worth making, it’s equally important to know what not to fix when you’re selling your house. Consult your real estate agent about whether the cost will be worth it.

The answer depends on the home’s sale price, where you’re located and what you manage to negotiate with the buyer. The costs can include real estate agent and attorney fees, title-related fees and all the other little administrative expenses that go into sealing a deal. Depending on your state, there may be transfer taxes; if you’re paying off a mortgage, your lender will probably have a few charges for you, too. It’s good to be prepared, so that you don’t get an unpleasant surprise at the closing table. Bankrate.com is an independent, advertising-supported publisher and comparison service. In what seems to be becoming a daily occurrence, four more lenders have announced mortgage rate rises. The Fed has issued its latest policy statement, announcing it will keep interest rates at the same level. Zillow's mortgage calculator gives you the opportunity to customize your mortgage details while making assumptions for fields you may not know quite yet.

How Do You Calculate Seller Closing Costs?

If the house is due for a paint job, painting helps sell your home at a way better price. Sellers who stage their house with a more neutral ambiance helps increase the chances of offers. You can help them by removing picture frames, large toys, or any furniture with a highly personal touch. That said, it’s better to create a neutral setting (but not a drab, empty space) where buyers can see potential in the rooms.

Your real estate agent can help you analyze market trends for your area and pick the most profitable time to list your home. To help prevent surprises, below is a list of common closing costs that sellers are often responsible for paying. If your property is part of a homeowners association, then you'll have to pay a prorated portion of your HOA fees. You may also have to pay an HOA transfer fee and an upfront cost for the HOA documents that are provided to the buyer. These depend on the area you live in and would be additional costs when selling.

If money is still owed on the mortgage, that balance is generally paid with funds from the sale of the home. The exact amount of net proceeds a seller might earn is hard to calculate until an offer has been accepted. It is possible, however, to get a general idea of what your proceeds will be from the sale of your house. Whether you’re taxed depends on how long you’ve owned the property and how much you pocket. The property must be your primary residence, and you’d pay taxes on the amount that’s higher than the capital gain amount. Nationwide, sellers usually pay around 7.59–8.59% in selling costs.

These fees are paid to the county and city where the property resides, but not all counties and cities require them. The amount of these transfer taxes are based on a percentage of the sale price. You can check the percentage for your area, and then edit this field when using our house sale calculator to see how this will impact the net proceeds from your home sale.

Enter the price of a home and down payment amount to calculate your estimated mortgage payment with an itemized breakdown and schedule. Adjust the loan details to fit your scenario more accurately. Transfer taxes are the taxes paid to local governments when the title of a home is transferred from the seller to the buyer.

Your goal is to stage the home to appeal to the widest number of buyers. When you have a viewing schedule, take time to open the windows to let fresh air in. Some sellers even put fresh flowers in a vase to make the focal rooms look more appealing. In a Washington Post feature, this is exactly what Marina and Daniel Ein dealt with. The Ein’s home was decorated with antiques, art, and an exquisite collection of Oriental rugs. But when they had to sell it, it was listed for over a year with no offers.

Use this calculator and real estate commissions data from across the country to find out. Get the most out of your home by listing with a trusted, local Veterans United Realty network agent. Match with top local agents, get full service for just 1.5%. The simplest way to calculate how much you need to sell your home for in order to break even (or make profit) is to subtract the market value of your home from the amount you owe. To maximize your home sale, price your home at the right range.

Removing mismatched furniture will improve your living space visually. A dining room should look like an inviting place to share meals. Again, the idea is to make it presentable for its purpose.

Home Sale Calculator: How Much Money Will I Make on My House?

house selling calculator

It did note inflation has eased over the past year, and it is still leaning towards eventual reductions in borrowing costs. The fast food giant has revealed its chefs have created a "larger, satiating burger" in a bid to boost sales. Read this and all the latest consumer and personal finance news below, plus leave a comment in the box. In addition to mortgages options (loan types), consider some of these program differences and mortgage terminology. Make sure any renovations done to your home are accurate and up-to-date. Estimate how much you should put down on a home and learn more about the loan options that work best for you.

Title insurance

Use our home sale calculator to estimate the cost of selling and the net proceeds you could earn from the sale. When a loan exceeds a certain amount (the conforming loan limit), it's not insured by the Federal government. Loan limits change annually and are specific to the local market. Jumbo loans allow you to purchase more expensive properties but often require 20% down, which can cost more than $100,000 at closing.

Home insurance

Some loans, like VA loans and some USDA loans allow zero down. Although it's a myth that a 20% down payment is required to obtain a loan, keep in mind that the higher your down payment, the lower your monthly payment. A 20% down payment also allows you to avoid paying private mortgage insurance on your loan. You can use Zillow's down payment assistance page and questionnaire tool to surface assistance funds and programs you may qualify for. Any net proceeds you receive as a seller are usually paid to you by the escrow company within 24 hours of closing, and you’ll often receive payment the same day as the sale.

What is the typical cost to sell a home as a percentage of the home sale price?

The "principal" is the amount you borrowed and have to pay back (the loan itself), and the interest is the amount the lender charges for lending you the money. Find out how much cash you need to bring at the closing table, including lender and third-party fees. Your house can be sold even if there’s still a mortgage on it.

But if selling pressure grows as American investors start to wake up and see what's happened, further declines are to be expected. Finally, it's important to consider the sentimental value of the item. If the piece holds sentimental value or is a high-quality piece, you may just want to hold on to it and invest in repairs.

A 5-year ARM, for instance, offers a fixed interest rate for 5 years and then adjusts each year for the remaining length of the loan. Typically the first fixed period offers a low rate, making it beneficial if you plan to refinance or move before the first rate adjustment. Your home equity is determined by comparing what your home is worth to what you currently owe on your mortgage. For example, if you owe $200,000 on your mortgage and are under contract to sell your home for $300,000, then you’re sitting on $100,000 in equity. The housing market ebbs and flows, but property values tend to rise over time. Our friends at Clever Real Estate match you with experienced local agents who can sell your home for top dollar — and save you thousands on commission.

Prorated property taxes

However, the rally made it more expensive to maintain positions and prompted traders to pull out of the market - leaving the product vulnerable to big price swings. The cocoa market is in a particularly turbulent period, with the price of the ingredient falling to its lowest level in a month. The losses were due to higher finance costs and the timings of its car launches. Market expectations for the UK base rate are often heavily influenced by what's going on in the US. If you're wondering why we're telling you this, it's because there is a link between the Fed's interest rate and the Bank of England's base rate.

While we strive to provide a wide range of offers, Bankrate does not include information about every financial or credit product or service. The escrow company is the neutral third party between the buyer and seller. They hold the buyer's deposit and distribute funds to all related parties once the sale of your home is official.

On the other hand, 13 percent of sellers’ agents said they only staged homes that were hard to sell. Homeowner's insurance is based on the home price, and is expressed as an annual premium. The calculator divides that total by 12 months to adjust your monthly mortgage payment.

Average annual premiums usually cost less than 1% of the home price and protect your liability as the property owner and insure against hazards, loss, etc. The offers that appear on this site are from companies that compensate us. But this compensation does not influence the information we publish, or the reviews that you see on this site. We do not include the universe of companies or financial offers that may be available to you. The payoff for your mortgage is handled by the escrow officer and includes the remaining balance and any miscellaneous fees the lender may charge. The escrow officer will deduct this amount from your sale price when calculating your proceeds.

When it comes to home-selling, not everyone stages their property. Some people put their house on sale without highlighting its best features. So if they made $400,000 in taxable income they would pay 15% of $30,000, or $4,500 in longterm capital gains on the home sale. One factor this calculator does not take into account is capital gains. According to IRS topic 701, homowners selling their primary residence can often exclude up to $250,000 in capital gains on the sale, or $500,000 if they file jointly with their spouse.

Galleries & Studios

carmel arts & design district

In 2021, Circle Real Estate acquired an iconic former fine art gallery on Main Street in the Carmel Arts & Design District to open their office. What they didn’t anticipate was the immediate interest from some of the region’s top contemporary artists in exhibiting their work. Besides presenting a pleasant gallery environment where you can visit and enjoy the exhibited work with the guidance of the artist, several Art On Main artists also take commission work to meet custom taste and design needs for both home and business. The Center provides performing arts experiences, learning opportunities and cultural enrichment through programs for children, teens, adults, schools, families and community partners. In the Young at Art section, children between the ages of two and twelve can do arts project on-site.

Many of today’s visitors become tomorrow’s residents, neighbors and coworkers, creating even more economic and cultural growth. CCA Gallery & Gifts offers an extensive variety of unique art from painting in oil and acrylic, to pastel, pen & ink and woodcut prints; photography, ceramics, glass, wood (including furniture), jewelry, leather, fabric, weaving, gourds and more. For art collectors and art admirers, there’s nothing the Carmel galleries that feature the most exquisite and avant garde art work on display in the city. Because art is a subjective medium, every art lover can contact their local gallery to find out when their favorite artist or style of art will be on display. Many Carmel galleries also hold art sales and auctions, allowing aficionados the chance to take their favorite pieces home.

I spent many years working in the graphic arts and faux painting fields before turning to studio art. While I have used many mediums over the years to create, since 2003 I have concentrated on oils. It’s fun and makes for a great photo opportunity with the funky lighting and ice sculptures. Unfortunately, NCL made the choice to chop off a significant portion of the bar and make it a Starbucks. Where the Atrium Bar used to be a gathering point for social activity and pre-dinner meetups, it’s now just an afterthought and feels like it should be in the lobby of a cheap hotel. I can’t say that I’ve stopped even once for a drink there since this change happened. The Martini Bar has a great vibe with lounge chairs placed well for the random live music that plays in the space.

Deck Key:

There are 19 decks, and a capacity for 4,100 passengers (at double occupancy) and 1,724 crew. Norwegian Epic was the first ship to receive renovations under the program, in October 2015. Sure, when Norwegian Epic debuted, it offered a lot of glitz and glam to its passengers.

Starlink provides fast Internet service at sea and is now available on Norwegian Epic. Using advanced low earth orbit satellites, SpaceX’s Starlink delivers industry leading broadband internet connectivity, which will improve the capacity, speed, and reliability of Internet on board. From casual buffets to exquisite speciality restaurants, learn everything there is to know about dining on board. From there, the 93,530-gross-ton ship will transition to Venice and begin its Med season, sailing between Italy and Greece through early November. For Norwegian Prima, the ship will begin its transatlantic voyage from New York on April 27. The 142,500-gross-ton Prima Class ship will spend much of its season in Northern Europe, calling on ports in Norway, Belgium, Holland, and Iceland. You might think that because this ship has such a party vibe for the adults, that there’s little left for the kids, but that’s hardly the case. Children traveling with their families enjoy access to not only kids clubs for varying age groups, but also a range of on-board activities. If you’d prefer not to get your hair wet, you can enjoy the rock climbing and repelling walls, or the miniature golf course.

These 11 things to know about the Norwegian Epic cruise ship just scratch the surface. There’s still a ton to explore and discover among this one-of-a-kind, totally-unique ship, and you never know when you’ll get another chance to cruise a vessel that’s truly the only in its class. The next year, the ship was featured on the show Mighty Ships, a Discovery Channel series that follows the routes, passengers and crews of cruise ships around the world. For a decade-old ship, Norwegian Epic isn’t shabby, but it was even more glamorous than it is now when it launched in 2010.

Most importantly, any stateroom marketed as a “Spa” room has unlimited access to the Thermal Spa Suites (Mandara Spa) included in the cruise fare. (Available on Norwegian Escape, Breakaway Class ships, Norwegian Bliss, and Norwegian Epic) You can see more about the Spa Staterooms on NCLs website. The cabins on the Norwegian Epic are where most passengers have a strong opinion. The layout is unusual by cruise ship standards with a split bathroom (the toilet is separate from the shower) and where the sink is in the room. With only a curtain divider, people often feel that privacy is lacking. The design is very “European” by nature, which is why it’s not well received by the customer base in America.

That promotion only lasted a few days and there was no notice of the discount. It was just visible when selecting the spa package as an add-on. See our 360-degree photos of the large balcony cabins on the Epic. Because of the ship layout and strange angles of the exterior, you will end up (usually) with a balcony that may be 50% larger but not as enjoyable. For one, you end up looking into the neighbor’s balcony/cabin when stepping out to the railing. So the reality is there is no benefit to the larger balcony staterooms on the Epic.

At night the bar changes to more of a venue for music and sometimes movies on a big screen. Just like Bliss, the staff sometimes doesn’t enforce the age restriction, a disappointment. The bar is a great place to sit outside and enjoy the good weather and have any number of daily frozen specials. The cruise line can be relied upon to outfit each of its ships with plenteous dining options. While some ships simply can’t deliver when it comes to good eats and plenty of them, that’s not the case here. Unfortunately for Norwegian Cruise Line, Norwegian Epic has been far surpassed by plenty of other cruise ships by now.

Relax with a hot-stone massage, one of over 50 speciality treatments offered. Plus, our Main Dining Rooms offer a menu that changes daily, Chef's Signature Dishes and carefully selected wine recommendations, guaranteeing a different culinary adventure with every visit. Modern, spacious suites perfect for the two of you or the whole family. First-class amenities include large balconies, butlers and more.

Norwegian Epic Cruise Ship Norwegian Epic Deck Plans Norwegian Cruise Line

ncl norwegian epic cruise ship

I want to share everything I've learned and hope to make your next cruise vacation as enjoyable as possible. The ship was the first “Mega” ship for Norwegian Cruise Line and features the first generation of wild and crazy activities that have now become the norm on large ships. This includes the aqua park with huge water slides (three of them!) and a 200-foot-long tube ride into a funnel/bowl. The current pricing to use the Mandara Thermal Suite is about $300 for a week (On a 9-day transatlantic crossing, it was $319 including all fees).

Bars & Lounges on the NCL Epic

Cagney's Steakhouse features the best cuts of Certified Angus Beef. Don't miss out on other repeat guest favorites such as the Parmesan dusted truffle fries or the made-from-scratch jumbo lump crab cakes. New evening entertainment options are also introduced at the ship’s theatre (deck 5). Among those are the musical “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” and the Broadway-style dance show “Burn the Floor”.

Outdoor entertainment gives you plenty of ways to soak up some sun and splash away.

That said, the EPIC is probably my least favorite cruise ship. Primarily because the ship has been in locations around the world at the same time I have and always seems to be going somewhere I want or need to be. So when I’ve wanted a quick getaway, the EPIC always seems to be available and it’s usually quite affordable for a last-minute vacation. (I’ve also used the Epic for Transatlantic crossings to get back to America when traveling overseas). The 165,000-gross-ton ship arrives in Rome from New York on April 24, beginning its season of 10- to 11-night adventures similar to Norwegian Viva. The 2024 NCL season is filled with diverse offerings, including first-ever sailings from New York City to Reykjavík, Iceland.

NCL Epic's SplashGolf was designed by Adventure Golf Services (a company specializing in the design and construction of mini-golf courses). The facility was installed in October 2015, during the ship's drydock refurbishment in Brest France. Instead of traditional solid mini-golf balls, SplalshGolf's balls are larger-sized and floating.

The Haven is more than just a room, it’s an experience on board Norwegian ships. The Haven never disappoints with its beautiful modern-designed suites. In 2020, the NCL Epic had some refurbishment and refit work done mainly to accommodate an upgraded Haven area. On a recent Epic voyage with friends who bid, and won an upgrade to the Haven. Their stateroom, while beautiful, was an aft cabin and not connected to the main Haven area on the ship. Beyond the unique design elements and slightly more spacious cabin (with a proper bathroom layout), the Haven offered a Butler and Concierge that they rarely used.

Destinations & Ports

Transatlantic crossings (RepositionCruises.com) between Europe and the Caribbean are offered seasonally, in spring and fall. Follows the complete list of Norwegian Epic lounges, clubs and other entertainment venues for kids, teens and adults. Think of it as your travel companion, helping you experience an unforgettable cruise vacation every step of the way. When it comes to the entertainment on Norwegian Epic, get ready to experience a show that explodes with jaw-dropping choreography, heart-pounding music and breath-taking moves. Watch the sizzle and passion of ballroom dancing unfold with Ballroom Blitz.

NCL introduces three new homeport options just for the summer season, increasing its total to 13. These include New York City, Le Havre (Paris), and Oslo, Norway. NCL is employing eight ships in the region during the summer season, including its newest ships, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. Cruise Critic is not a booking agent and does not charge any service fees to users of our site.

Balcony Cabins

Dining venues enhancements include new carpeting and decors, and their furniture was reupholstered. “Priscilla Queen Of The Desert” show is a musical type of comedy entertainment. The spectacle features numerous costumes, head-dresses and dancing classics, such as “It’s Raining Men”, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, etc.

Visit Aqua Park and feel the exhilaration as you slide down 200 feet on The Epic Plunge - the only bowl slide at sea. With so much to do, we'll always have you coming back for more. At the time of the ship’s construction, it was the third-largest cruise ship in the world. The ship boasts a gross tonnage of 155,873 GT, with a length of 1,081 feet and a height of 200 feet.

Cool and hip, right down to the funky lighting and flat screen TV, this exclusive key card access-only category is unlike anything you have ever experienced before. These staterooms have a full size bed for one guest and a window view to the corridor. Norwegian Epic is just that, an epic experience for a cruiser to encounter. The 4,100-passenger ship is truly a floating city with restaurants featuring cuisines from all around the world, like Wasabi Sushi Bar and Moderno Churrascaria. At night you can enjoy something a little different like a live performance. Check out Fat Cat’s Jazz & Blues Club where the rhythm is contagious.

Other than serving the purpose of a bar, club, or lounge, Bliss is also used during the day for private events and gatherings. The Spa Staterooms on the Epic come in three varieties including the Haven Spa Suite, Spa Balcony Suite, and Spa Balcony.
